He worked almost exclusively from nature and exhibited his paintings at the Salon from 1827 with a \u00ab View of Thiers from the road to Lyon \u00bb. Shortly thereafter, he went to Italy, staying there until 1831. He continued to exhibit Italian subjects that earned him some success with connoisseurs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our painting is a sensitive and sincere example of the artist&#8217;s work in France.
